What Do You Have To Lose By voting For A President Bush Or A Senator Hillary Clinton?

The upcoming presidential election is a choice between the two most disliked candidates running for office in America, and that choice will determine the eventual outcome of American politics for at least the next 4 years. This race has been pitting the two top supporters of the American President-elect, Senator Barrack Obama (D-IL), and Vice President Dick Cheney (R-UT) against each other in a battle to be the most loyal "Viva La President" supporter in the country. (Viva La Hip Hop President!) One of the major issues on which the two Presidential hopefuls have staked their claim to be most trustworthy with their various political podium speeches across the country has been the issue of Prescription Drug Insurance Costs.

On October 21st the two front runners to win the Republican nomination for President of the United States of America, Senator John McCain (R-AZ) and former Vice President Dick Cheney (R-WV), will have their turn to make their closing arguments to the American people in their final stand to become President of the United States of America. These two Presidential hopefuls have made it a point to divide the Democratic Party, the party that nominated Senator Barack Obama (D-IL), in half over the last year. Although no one doubts the skill and talent of Senator John McCain and his top supporters, many African-American voters remain unsure about whether or not Senator John McCain, with his ultra-modern image and well-groomed looks, can win the election for President of the United States of America this November.

There is a possibility that Senator John McCain might lose the election to President George W. Bush in the upcoming election because of the controversial policies and philosophies adopted by the Republican Administration during the last two terms of President George W. Bush's term as President of the United States of America. Many African Americans, who vote for the Republicans, are afraid of voting for any candidate who is considered "outsider" and who does not posses the same "traditional values" that are held by most black Americans. These are the very same "inner cities" in which Senator John McCain holds a strong majority of the vote. According to exit polls, the bulk of black voters in Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania will decide which candidate they will support during this presidential election.

In contrast, if Senator John McCain is victorious in the upcoming election, what do you have to lose? A loss that will prove to be an historic event in American politics. According to some political pundits, if Senator John McCain wins in Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New Hampshire; he will receive between ninety-five percent and ninety-eight percent of the black vote. How is that for a bargain! What do black Americans have to lose if Senator John McCain wins his home state of Florida, as well as the other two Rust Belt states of Ohio and Pennsylvania?

Well, what do you have to lose if you are a black American living in Florida, as well as in Ohio, or in any of the other fifteen states which constitute the Rust Belt? Nothing! Why is the media so focused on the race for the presidential nominee? The news media has become over excited in its focus on the possible second place finisher in the presidential election, while all the rest of America has been trying something new, something exciting, and something different.

This past summer, when former President George W. Bush was preparing to run for re-election, the former President made some controversial comments regarding his potential future. In a private conversation with advisers, former President Bush discussed the possibility of his being succeeded by either Senator John McCain or Senator Hillary Clinton. During this discussion, the former President was quoted as saying "What do you have to lose?" Bush further said that he didn't see the difference between the two major ticket candidates being the next President of the United States.

Many African Americans who reside in southern Florida have been angered and upset at this comment. What exactly do you have to lose by voting for either Hillary Clinton or John McCain? Both of these gentlemen have been warmly welcomed into the political arena and each one of them has an excellent political record and track record in their respective parties. Still, many citizens of Florida feel that electing either of these two individuals will actually mean losing a large number of benefits that they currently receive from their government (fewer cuts in benefits, better healthcare, better education opportunities, etc.). According to a recent study completed in January of this year by the University of Florida's Institute of Politics, by a margin of sixty-five percent of Florida voters, African Americans was the demographic group who favored a President Bush over Senator Hillary Clinton.

In conclusion, we can safely say that African Americans need to consider what do you have to lose by voting for a President Bush or a Senator Hillary Clinton. Of course, what exactly do you have to lose is the continuation of policies which have been causing mass amounts of African American communities to suffer extreme levels of poverty. However, what do you have to gain by electing a different government and trying something new? The answer to that question is not as simplistic or obvious as it seems at first glance. We all know that African Americans face some of the worst ills of our time; lack of education, lack of job, and extreme levels of crime are only a few examples. So, what do you have to lose by voting for one of the leading candidates for president?
